When submitting a new logo to AVP for customized hats it is very important that AVP receive the art in a camera-ready format. Not only will this ensure that we have the correct logo (in proportion, correct colors, etc.), it will also greatly improve delivery time on your custom order. When artwork is non-camera ready, AVP often times has to re-create the file which is very time consuming. Camera-ready artwork speeds up delivery because we are able to produce a paper proof of your artwork more quickly, get the order in the system and shipped on out the door faster!
Vector files sent on disk or via email are preferred (type should be converted to points and paths). These will have one of the following files extensions: .eps or .ai. These electronic vector files are Camera Ready, and are the only file types with a 3 business day lead time for proofs.
Also Acceptable
TIFF, JPEG, and PDF files sent on disk or via email (5 day lead time)
• The resolution should be at least 300 dpi.
• JPEG files are generally unacceptable (If the file is 300 dpi, the correct size and only one color, there is a good chance we can reproduce it, however, a TIFF or EPS would be preferable)
• PDF files can be acceptable if the logo that has been embedded in the PDF was originally a vector file. Be sure to specify colors since PDFs do not always represent true color.
• We can set text from a Word document, in the event we do not have the exact font, we will match your font as closely as possible. It is not our policy to "draw" text.
Art Submittals requiring graphic reproduction will incur a fee of $70.00/hour.
Some examples of these kind of files include:
• Any file that has been copied or saved from a website.
• Word documents with inserted images.
• Any image or art that has been faxed.
Proofing is an important and required step in the process! AVP provides proofs for all logos to ensure accurate logo reproduction and customer satisfaction. Proof options include: e-mailed proof, black & white proof and color print proof. When camera-ready artwork is submitted please allow 3 business days for the proof to be completed. When non-camera-ready artwork is submitted please allow 5-7 business days for the proof to be completed.
